Do you have them? I'm sure you do. They are sentences or phrases that are repeated in your home throughout the years.
These "Family Statements" help remind you of your values or keep traditions alive. We've had a lot in our home raising our kids, but I was reminded of one in particular recently that we told our kids often when they were little.
"Decisions you make affect other people."
The point was to help our young kids learn that they couldn't make choices in total isolation. As people, living in families and communities, our choices have a much bigger impact on others than we realize.
Have you ever thought about your physical, mental, and spiritual health this way? That the decisions you are making today are affecting others in a significant way?
If you struggle with finding the motivation to prioritize your mind and body, I encourage you to step back and consider how impactful you are on others.
Let's take a look at who you are affecting ...
👩🏻 Your tomorrow self
Choosing to move your body today, whether it's going for a walk or a HIIT workout, gives your tomorrow self the confidence she can do it again.
👩🏻🦰 Your 1-year older self
Developing a single healthy habit that sticks, whether it's journaling, stretching, drinking water, or getting your steps in, will make your 1-year older self an entirely different person.
👩🏼🦳 Your 20-year-older self
The foods you eat today are still present in your body decades from now. They show up in bone density, muscle strength, fat storage, and heart health. Eat today so your 20-year older self can live well.
🧔🏻♂️ Your spouse
There isn't a single person affected by your healthy lifestyle more than the man in your life. You bless and care for him by choosing to make time to care for yourself.
👦🏻 Your sons
Giving the young men in your life the opportunity to see their mom own her personal health journey is a gift. They see a woman who respects herself enough to keep her mind and body strong.
👧🏼 Your daughters
Providing the young girls in your home with a role model and healthy vision to aspire to is life-changing. In a world where beauty is fleeting, show them a different way to measure their life.
👭 Your friend group
You are the compilation of the 5 people you spend the most time with. The women you surround yourself with affect you and your accountability with them affects them in a major way.

Hi friend, I just got back from the most beautiful long weekend at the lake with my family and lifelong friends—lots of laughter, sunshine, wake surfing (not me), and late-night talks. Moments like that fill my heart and remind me how movement, connection, and rest all go hand-in-hand. Now… we’re back. And it’s the official start of the 21-Day SHRED! If you’re jumping in—amazing! Let’s go! The rest of the July calendar is planned out and ready for you to press play and sweat. If you need a...
Hi friend, I’ll be the first to say it… I’ve been quiet in your inbox. 🫠 😶 Between moving my college kids, moving my mom, filming workouts, chasing farm dogs and running a small business, life has felt like a whirlwind lately. If your summer has been full and fast too — I see you. As women we press on. No matter if you're swamped with kids home from school or have a full plate at work, let's keep our mental and physical health something we fight for. Here’s what’s fresh from me to you for...
💕 Grace, Rhythm & Support 💕 Of all the opportunities I've had the past 48 years, being a mom has been my favorite. More than any trip or friendship. Greater than any creative endeavor or business idea. I've loved being a mom the most. I remember how crazy May is for most every mom out there. In my family we have Mother's Day (today), my anniversary (tomorrow), my daughter's birthday in 2 weeks and my husbands birthday 5 days after that. Throw in school parties, sports schedules and some...
